Metlako Falls is the first major waterfall encountered along Eagle Creek Trail and is also the highest at about 100 ft. tall (it has been listed as anywhere from 80 to 150 ft. high). A short, un-signed spur trail will take you to a viewpoint of the falls. Only a long distance view is available, but even from this distance, Metlako Falls is one of the prettiest and most scenic waterfalls along Eagle Creek.
Note that Metlako Falls is not exactly located where the USGS topo maps indicate. It is just slightly upstream, where Sorenson Creek dumps into Eagle Creek. Sorenson Falls is a really nice waterfall as well, but unfortunately no views of this one are possible.
