In the spring, Proxy Falls is absolutely dazzling. Although we knew it was a big one, 200 ft. high, we had never seen a very decent picture of the waterfall, and so we were surprised and awe-struck when we came to the superb viewpoint of the waterfall, where you can see the entire length of the falls coming down in two long cascades. Even more incredible than this, you can walk down to the base of the waterfall, scramble across Proxy Creek, and walk right up to and touch the falls. It is an amazing experience.

Proxy Falls Trail begins at the marked trailhead along Hwy #242. It is a loop trail, and they want you to follow it in a counter-clockwise direction (do not ask me why), going first to Proxy Falls, then to Upper Proxy Falls. This is a surprisingly popular trail, so we recommend coming on a weekday in the morning to avoid crowds.

Note that Hwy #242 (from Sisters) is closed during the winter and sometimes is not even open until July. But you can always access the waterfall pretty much year-round, if you come from the other direction (Hwy #126). The waterfall will be best seen in the spring, however.
