Bluff Falls is best seen in the afternoon (after the sun goes behind the waterfall), and best seen in the early summer after snowmelt. The easy way to see the waterfall is right along the road in your car. You will get a pretty good view of it this way. But the better way is to scramble up the rocks along the side of the waterfall, which will lead you right to the base of the falls. There is nothing like being right beside a waterfall, experiencing it close-up, and feeling the spray of the falls on your face. But if you do hike up to this one, be very careful. The rocks are very loose, and they could easily slide out from under you, causing injury. We would not take young children on this hike. Dogs are allowed (as it is outside the park), but probably not a good idea to take them either.
