8   Virgin Creek Falls

Location: Girdwood, Turnagain Arm, Anchorage County Height: ~15 ft. Access:         Distance: 0.2 miles (RT) Elevation: 300 ft. Season: year-round Difficulty: Lat/Long:60.94737, -149.12312 Directions:Along Hwy 1 at Girdwood (35 miles south of Anchorage), turn north on Aleyska Hwy. Drive 2.6 miles and turn right on Timberline Dr. (unsigned, 0.3 miles past bridge over river). Drive 1.0 miles to the end of the road and park. The signed trailhead is beside the house at end of road.

Although only 15 ft. high, Virgin Creek Falls is a thing of beauty. I really loved this pretty little falls found in the skiing community of Girdwood, along a very scenic and pristine (virgin like) Virgin Creek.

It is a very short hike at the end of Timberline Drive up to the falls. It is quite easy to get down to the creek as well, and is definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.
