Do not be fooled, like we were. I had forgotten my hiking book, thinking it would be easy to find Virginia Falls, just a short distance past St. Mary Falls. Well, we did come to a waterfall just past St. Mary Falls, and we figured it must be Virginia Falls, since it was a fairly high, cascading, waterfall. But in fact, it was an unnamed and unmarked waterfall, albeit a pretty one (see Lower Virginia Falls). We should have continued on the trail further because Virginia Falls is a full 0.5 miles past St. Mary Falls. The signs also confused us, because one of them said Virginia was only 0.5 kilometres (not miles) beyond St. Mary.
