Directions:Going east on I-84, take exit 41 to Eagle Creek Park (41 miles east of Portland). The Eagle Creek Trail begins at the parking lot in the park. There is a parking fee.

A short walk past Lower Punch Bowl Falls, you will reach a viewpoint for Punch Bowl Falls. I was not sure what a "punchbowl" looked like, but somehow the name more than adequately describes this waterfall. In fact, the term "punchbowl" for a waterfall type was coined because of this very waterfall. Eagle Creek really seems to "punch" through the canyon into a large bowl. It is a very cool looking little waterfall.

The best view of Punch Bowl Falls, though, is not from this higher vantage point, but from creek level. At Lower Punch Bowl Falls, make your way up the creek, around the corner, and voila, there is Punch Bowl Falls. In the winter and spring, you will likely get quite wet making your way up the creek. In the summer, it is a great place for a dip in the cold creek.
