As far as hiking on the California coast is concerned, the Dipsea / Steep Ravine / Matt Davis trail loop may be the best. Tremendous ocean views, and a rushing creek down a mountain side through a beautiful forest. Steep Ravine Falls is on the small side, and we would rank it only as a "6" perhaps (it is a good waterfall, but not great). But the entire hike itself is a "9".
